The comparison / Google Maps

From the reel to your Google Maps list.

Google Maps helps you save places and plan the journey. Hold My Pin helps with an earlier step: identifying the place you saw on Instagram.

When you already know the place

Google Maps lets you save places to lists and open listings for information and directions. If a creator gives you the exact business name and city, searching Maps directly can be a straightforward next step.

Your Google Maps lists belong to your Maps account. You can use them to organize checked discoveries for a trip or an ordinary weekend.

When the place is still a question

Hold My Pin starts inside Instagram. Forward a public reel or post to @holdmypin; the assistant looks for location clues and replies with Google Maps links when it identifies candidate places.

It does not automatically add those places to your Google Maps account. Open the link, check the name and address, then use Save in Google Maps if you want to keep it.

Use them together, with one final check

Keep the original reel for context, the checked listing for the location, and any reservation information separately. This makes it easier to act on the idea later.

Confirm current opening hours and booking requirements with the venue. A location match does not guarantee availability or that the place is right for your plans.

Arrange offline navigation separately

Google Maps provides downloads for supported areas, with limitations on availability and functionality. Check its current help before relying on offline access.

Hold My Pin’s Instagram flow needs connectivity. It does not provide an offline map or replace Google Maps navigation.

Find your fit

If you already know the place, go straight to Google Maps. If you are starting with a reel, Hold My Pin can help you find a candidate listing first.
