That place in the reel? Here’s how to find it.

Pick a post with a place in it
Choose a public Instagram reel or post about a cafe, restaurant, hotel or attraction. A venue name, city, location tag or clear caption gives the assistant more context than an unexplained view.
Start with one post. Private, removed or expired content may not be available to the assistant, and not every reel contains enough clues to identify a place.
Follow and forward
Open @holdmypin on Instagram and tap Follow. Return to the reel, use Instagram’s share arrow, search for holdmypin, choose the account and send the post.
If the account does not appear, open its profile and send a short message such as “hi” before trying again. You can also copy the post link and paste it directly into the DM conversation.
Open the reply and check the place
The assistant attempts to identify places and replies with Google Maps links when it finds results. Check the DM conversation for the response; processing time varies.
Open a link, then compare the name, city and branch with the original reel. If there are several plausible listings, do not assume the first one is correct.
Save what you actually want to visit
Use Google Maps to save the checked listing to one of your own lists or to look up directions. Hold My Pin does not save to your Google Maps account on your behalf.
Before you make a trip, confirm current opening hours and any reservation requirement with the venue. The reel provides inspiration; your final check makes it a practical plan.
Try it: your first successful handoff
Start with a public post that names a café or restaurant. Open the share menu, choose @holdmypin and send it. If the account does not appear, start a chat from its profile or paste the public post link into the conversation.
Once a reply arrives, open a map link and check the city and branch against the reel. Choose Save on the matching Maps listing and put it in a list you will remember. Open that list again: you now have a place you can find independently of the Instagram post.
- Send the original post, rather than a screenshot of its thumbnail.
- Check the assistant’s reply for multiple results or a limit message.
- Keep the reel if it contains a menu tip or other context you want later.
